And the Winner is...

Alumnus Christopher Boyes Christopher Boyes(B.A., '85) won his third Academy Award, the 2004 Oscar for Sound Mixing, for his work on "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King."

 

Alumnus Kent Nagano conductingConductor Kent Nagano (M.A., '76) and the Russian National Orchestra won the 2004 Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Album for Children for "Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf/Beintus' Wolf Tracks."

Keeping our fingers crossed for…

Alumnus Ernest GainesErnest Gaines(B.A., '57), the author of "The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman," "A Gathering of Old Men," and "A Lesson Before Dying," among others, has been nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature. The winner will be announced in October.
