Higher Education Compact 2005-06 to 2010-11

Starting in 2005-06, the higher education compact will enable SFSU to plan for enrollment growth and help ensure academic program quality. Highlights include:

  • State funding increases of 3% in 2005-06 and 2006-07.

  • State funding increases of 4% starting 2007-08, plus 1% more after that for instructional equipment, instructional technology, libraries, and building maintenance.

  • Funding for system-wide enrollment increases of 2.5% per year.

  • Predictable student fee increases. (Starting in 2004-05, the average annual increase for undergraduates will be 10% (14% the first year, then 8% and 8%). Graduate fees will rise by "no less than 10%.")

  • Funding for mandatory costs such as health benefit and retirement increases.
