Bach and Roll SFSU's Morrison Artists Series, the longest-running chamber music program in San Francisco, celebrated its 50th anniversary with a gala concert featuring a surprising guest—guitarist Kirk Hammett of the heavy metal band Metallica. Donning a white suit, Hammett joined Morrison Artistic Director Saul Gropman and The FLUX Quartet to perform "SAS," an experimental piece written by FLUX violinist Tom Chiu. "Hammett's music making was relatively elegant as well as inventive," wrote Heuwell Tircuit of the San Francisco Classical Voice. "Bless me, I may yet end up as a fan."
